M’sian Woman Dissatisfied With RM13 Cromboloni, Claims False Advertising

Well, she tried.
Is there any day that passes by without the craving for sweet treats?

Sweet tooths often go great lengths (more like depth of their wallets) to get a taste of their favourite desserts. But wouldn’t you feel disappointed when the dessert you paid for isn’t what you were promised at all?

Expectation Vs. Reality

In a Facebook post, a buyer by the username @fajar.mustapha, expressed her frustration over the Cromboloni she received, which wasn’t what she was promised.

According to the post, she mentioned that a home baker in Taiping, Perak, advertised on Facebook about taking in orders for Crombolonis, which costs RM13 per piece. Moreover, the baker also provided delivery services straight to customers’ doors.

She attached two pictures (refer image below) in the post to attract more customers to order the dessert.

The OP then went ahead and ordered some Crombolonis, believing it to look exactly like the advertised photos, and here’s what she got.

The Cromboloni ended up not looking like a Cromboloni and it was not at all similar to what was advertised by the baker.

This led to the OP confronting the baker about it to which the baker defended themselves by saying that the pictures were mere examples and they’re just a home baker.

I’m sorry your expectations were too high for our products.”

Offered RM8 refund

Speaking to Weirkaya, the OP mentioned that she ordered the dessert, believing that the images attached were her(baker’s) products and she failed to mention that they were just references for customers.

Upon receiving the dessert, she was disappointed and frustrated as it was not at all what she expected it to look or taste like.

It was hard and raw in the middle and couldn’t be eaten at all!”

When asked about the confrontation with the baker, she added that the baker didn’t even offer an apology and that just likes baking for fun.

A refund was only offered after the customer posted about her frustration on Facebook and it went viral. Even then, the refund offered in exchange for deleting the post was only RM8.

The OP declined the offer for a refund so measly, when she paid RM59 for the Cromboloni and she also has refused to delete the Facebook post.

What would you’ve done in this situation? Let us know in the comments!
