M’sian Woman Desperately Seeks Help After Father Goes Missing In Penang, Last Heard Trapped In Ditch

“The car fell into a ditch but he doesn’t know where he is.”
A Malaysian woman is turning to the public for help after her father, Teh Seng Keat, went missing on Thursday (May 29) evening and was last heard saying he had driven into a ditch but didn’t know where he was.

In a series of distressing updates shared on Facebook, his daughter, Su-Ching, revealed that her 66-year-old father had left her aunt’s house in Batu Lanchang around 5.30pm and was supposed to return home to Gelugor.

However, he never made it back.

Tried calling him multiple times

According to her, the family had tried calling him multiple times, but their conversations were unusual and worrying.

“He either refused to answer or scolded us when he did. He said he was five minutes away and that he knew where he was,” she wrote.

The last time anyone managed to get through to him was at 10.15pm. Since then, there’s been no contact.

Car allegedly in a ditch

At 7am the next day, Su-Ching shared another update: her father had briefly contacted her mother, saying his car had fallen into a ditch and he was unable to get out and had no idea where he was.

With his phone still on and battery likely running low, Su-Ching made a plea for anyone in Penang to keep an eye out for a black Perodua Myvi with the plate number PGP9246, especially around roadside ditches, drains, or curbs.

In a desperate attempt to locate her father’s phone, Su-Ching said she contacted telecommunications provider Digi but was told that only the police could carry out such tracking.

Despite lodging a police report, she claimed the authorities informed them they couldn’t trace his phone either.

I don’t have much time. While his phone still has battery, we need Digi to just locate him,” she pleaded.

With the search continuing, Su-Ching is urging anyone who may have seen her father or his vehicle to immediately contact her at 012-391 0226 (based in KL), or her brother Wei Chih at 017-485 5105.

“If you do see him, please get him to stay put and stop driving. We will come and get him,” she added.

At the time of writing, Teh still remains missing.
