A woman in Kulim expressed distress over her mother-in-law’s decision to cut off their electricity supply, allegedly because her husband was late in paying the bill by just one month.
This forced the woman and her young child to endure extreme discomfort, where they lived in darkness and heat.
Living next to her mother-in-law’s residence
According to a report by mStar, the woman took to social media to voice her frustration, mentioning that her home is right next to her mother-in-law’s residence.
Despite knowing her young grandchild lived there, the mother-in-law reportedly insisted on shutting off their power.
Compounding their difficulties, the woman revealed that she and her husband reside in an old, dilapidated house plagued by termite infestations.
Already struggling with an uncomfortable living situation, their circumstances worsened when the electricity was disconnected, leaving them in even more distress.
Facing financial hardships
She added that her husband faces financial hardships but continues to shoulder the responsibility of taking care of his younger siblings.
He’s already facing so much hardship, can’t he even have some relief from the heat?” she pleaded.
Considering their current home’s poor condition, she urgently hopes to find alternative accommodation.
“I don’t understand why my husband’s siblings can’t see how tough our situation is and be more considerate,” she expressed emotionally.
