If you’re one who has been to many job interviews, you’d probably come across job requirements that struck you as weird, unusual, or sometimes downright outrageous.
A woman recently took to social media to share one of the oddest job interview she had so far, where a certain company revealed it was mandatory for all staff to go completely bald.
M’sian woman baffled by company’s hairless requirement
In a now-viral Threads post, the woman shared what she called “the dumbest interview experience ever”.
According to her, she had applied for a job at an oil and gas (O&G) company and was contacted via a phone call to arrange for an interview by the boss, who laid down two mandatory requirements if she wanted the job:
- All staff must shave their heads bald, including women who wear the hijab
- She must let him have a look at her hair during the interview

Shocked by the requirements, the OP asked the boss what was the reason for the hairless requirement and how it was related to the job.
In response, the boss replied:
Because I support a cancer NGO, so you need to feel what cancer patients feel — by being bald.”
“I immediately hung up afterwards. If the boss is already acting crazy before I even start working, imagine what it’s like on the job!” the OP exclaimed.

Provided proof of bizarre requirement
To further prove that her story was legit, the OP shared two screenshots of the conversation she had with the boss on WhatsApp.
In the first screenshot, it showed the boss telling her that all female staff must have their hair cut short for three months, which will be done by him.
When the OP asked whether a female staff could do the hair trimming instead, the boss said he was an ex-hairstylist and wanted to ensure the hair length complied with company policy, adding that he will only do it once.

However, the OP protested, saying showing a man her aurat (covered areas) went against her religious beliefs.
She added that she was unwilling to violate her religious beliefs on exchange for a job before thanking the boss for the job offer and turning him down.
