Like siblings, Malaysia and Singapore long have a love-hate relationship over certain topics such as currency, food, and of course, the contentious RON95.
Now, it seems that another new topic has surfaced that may very well spark a heated debate between Malaysians and Singaporeans — bread (yup, you read it correctly).
‘They’re hoarding bread in JB!’
This comes after a woman named levied a rather serious accusation against Singaporeans who travelled to Johor Bahru (JB) to “buy bread and pastries like Singapore doesn’t sell bread”.
In the Threads post, she vented her frustration by sharing an anecdote that took place at one such bakery.

“Three to four family members standing in front of the pastries asking each other what they want and hoarding stacking breads on their trays, while other customers couldn’t even get to the bread.
When they have finally walked away, there’s no bread left?? Where the f**k is your social awareness walao, you’re in another country, are you not embarrassed?”
The OP further claimed that the group of Singaporeans swooped in and snagged up all of the bread when fresh ones were displayed, something which angered her deeply.

“It’s the hoarding behavior that showcases your lack of social awareness and being inconsiderate of others.
“Is it really ‘boosting other country’s economy’ or is it greed and self entitlement?” she questioned.
Gets bashed by netizens
In the comment section, a majority of netizens were in strong disagreement with the OP’s comments and made it known to her.
One slammed her for getting upset over something so minor, adding that the bakery would be more than happy to see so many customers flooding its doors.

Another felt the OP had jumped into conclusions too quickly by assuming the group of Singaporeans were hoarding bread for themselves and suggested they could’ve been buying it for their neighbours or friends.

Meanwhile, another bashed the OP for lumping all Singaporeans together as “hoarders” and painting them in a bad light based on a single negative experience.
