With AI tools becoming part of everyday life, some people have even turned to them for guidance on personal matters including relationships.
Recently, a Malaysian man revealed that his wife wanted a divorce after ChatGPT predicted their marriage would only stabilise in six years.

He shared his story anonymously on XUAN’s Facebook page, hoping to get opinions from others on what he should do next.
Wife consults ChatGPT about marriage
According to him, he and his wife have been facing many challenges in their marriage. Things became so strained that they decided to live separately, and it has already been three months since the separation began.
The man said he was hoping they could work things out, but what happened next left him even more confused.
He revealed that his wife had recently taken her bazi (Chinese astrology birth chart) to ChatGPT, wanting to find out what the future of their marriage looked like.

The AI reportedly replied:
The next few years will be a testing period for your marriage. Many issues will surface, and it will probably only start to stabilise after about six years.”
After reading this, the wife told him she felt they were not compatible and wanted a divorce.
Questions whether AI should decide fate of marriage
The man admitted he was shocked by her decision. He could not understand why a marriage’s future should be based on what AI predicted instead of the life they had shared together.

Shouldn’t what truly matters be the real experiences, the memories, the good and bad we go through as a couple?” he wrote.
Feeling lost and heartbroken, he turned to social media to ask for opinions.
