M’sian Vendor Sells Over 100 Breakfast Items For Just RM1 Each

She’s not just selling RM1 kuih, she’s helping other vendors thrive too.
In the face of climbing living expenses, one vendor in Terengganu has taken a heart-warming route to ensure no one starts their day hungry.

Anuar Hamzah, a 55-year-old vendor from Kampung Manir, has been running a breakfast stall in front of Masjid Al-Ikhlas, Kampung Banggol Tuan Muda, since last year.

RM1 for everything, no catch

What makes her stall unique? Every item — from traditional kuih to rice dishes and drinks — is sold at just RM1 each.

Opening as early as 6.30am, her stall boasts over 100 different types of food, all neatly packed and ready for customers to grab and go.

But what’s more impressive is the reason behind this initiative.

‘I want to ease their burden’

“The idea came after seeing how the cost of living keeps increasing every year,” Anuar shared.

The food I sell is supplied by around 40 vendors. Each item must be prepared at an affordable price, but the taste is just as good as food that costs more.”

According to Harian Metro, even with slim profit margins, Anuar says the satisfaction lies in helping others.

Alhamdulillah, it’s been a year. Though the profit is small, I’m satisfied because I can help reduce people’s burden,” she added.

For large families in particular, affordable breakfast options like these can make a huge difference.

Support for vendors too

Beyond helping customers, Anuar’s initiative also provides consistent income for local kuih makers who supply the food.

Despite rising ingredient prices, these vendors continue to prepare quality meals that can still be sold at RM1, showing the power of collaboration and community spirit.

She admits the key to making it work is volume. As long as everything sells out, she still makes a modest profit — and the customers are clearly happy.

Regular buyer Noor Aishah Mustakim, 30, praised the value she gets from the stall.

I honestly save a lot. One kuih is only RM1. So, with RM10, I can get 10 types of food, compared to other shops that charge RM2 or RM3 per item,” she said.

Anuar’s humble stall proves that kindness and good food don’t have to come at a high price.
