A woman has shared her discomfort after learning that her boyfriend exchanged phone numbers with a female motorcyclist he had helped along a highway, sparking a debate online about boundaries in relationships.
According to the woman, the incident came up casually while the couple were on their way home after dinner.
Her boyfriend told her he had stopped to help someone whose motorcycle had broken down and towed the bike to the nearest petrol station before checking what was wrong.
‘I thought it was a man at first’
She said she initially assumed the person her boyfriend helped was a man, only to later find out it was a woman.

He told me the motorcycle still could not start after checking. He then contacted a friend nearby to see if they could help, but all his friends were too far away,” she explained.
The man later decided to leave after being told that someone else would be coming to assist the stranded rider. However, what left the woman feeling uneasy was what happened next.
Phone numbers were exchanged
According to her, the female motorcyclist asked to exchange phone numbers so she could provide updates “in case anything happened”.
“My boyfriend agreed, and they exchanged numbers. The woman later messaged him to update him and said she was lucky he was there, otherwise she would have ended up crying by the highway,” she said.

She added that her boyfriend recounted the story in a lighthearted, joking manner, as if it was something funny. For her, however, the situation raised questions.
The question is, was it really necessary to exchange phone numbers?”
The woman stressed that she was proud to have a partner who was willing to help someone in need, especially in a potentially dangerous situation by the highway.
At the same time, she admitted that she could not shake off the uncomfortable feeling about the exchange of contact details, especially since help from someone else was already on the way.
Many netizens shared their opinions, with some saying the exchange of phone numbers was unnecessary.
Some commented that the female rider might have been trying her luck after seeing a caring man, regardless of whether he already had a partner. Others felt that if help was already arranged, there was no real reason to keep in touch afterward.
