A 17-year-old boy was violently assaulted by using a plastic chair in a brawl outside a mamak stall in Seremban, leaving him convulsing on the ground.
According to a 41-second viral video posted on X, the fight broke out near a food stall between four boys, ending with the victim severely injured.
Argument escalated into violence
The altercation reportedly began as a personal dispute between the victim and two other teenagers, which quickly escalated into violence.
In the video, the victim is seen initially trying to strike one of the assailants, a boy in a grey shirt, with a plastic chair.
Despite his smaller size, the grey-shirted boy managed to defend himself and retaliate, breaking the chair and bringing the victim to the floor in the process.
Continue the assault as victim convulsing on the ground
As the victim stumbled, the attackers continued their assault, with one delivering a blow that left the victim convulsing on the ground.
Even as the victim lay helpless, the attackers continued to punch and kick him before fleeing the scene.
The brutal assault, which took place at around 11 p.m. at a restaurant on Jalan Dato’ Mohd Said, left the victim severely injured.
Despite his condition, he managed to report the incident to the police the following day. He was subsequently admitted to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for treatment.
Police launch investigation
According to Sin Chew Daily, Seremban District Police Chief Mohamad Hatta confirmed that the police received the victim’s report at approximately 4:25 p.m. on Monday, August 19.
The initial investigation suggests that the fight started due to a personal dispute between the victim and two individuals known to him.
“The victim was attacked by two Chinese males using their bare hands and a chair, resulting in severe injuries,” Mohamad Hatta stated.
“We believe the suspects are between 16 and 18 years old, and we are treating this as a case of voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon, under Section 324 of the Penal Code.”
The police have since identified the suspects involved in the incident and are actively searching for their whereabouts.
