M’sian Technician Rests In Car After Work, Later Dies in His Sleep From Heart Failure

The case has been ruled as sudden death.
A local technician thought it’d be a good idea for him to take a short breather after completing his task.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be his last as he never woke up from it.

Car stayed at parking lot for 9 hours

Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the victim was 40-year-old Mohamad Azwan, who was found dead in his car at the parking lot of an apartment in Bukit Beruang, Melaka, at about 7pm on Tuesday (Jan 27).

According to the apartment’s security guard, he said Mohamad would occasionally come over to inspect the electrical meter and did so at around 10am on the day of the incident.

The guard also added that he didn’t notice whether Mohamad had exited his car as he was busy with his own work.

Nine hours later, the guard saw that Mohamad’s car was still at the parking lot and went to check on him, only to find him lying lifeless in the driver’s seat, reported China Press.

Heart failure found to be cause

Police from the Ayer Keroh police station were contacted immediately and they came to the scene to conduct investigations.

Patit said Mohamad’s family members told police that he was single and had no underlying medical issues. They also said that they last saw him on Jan 23.

Investigations at the scene found no signs of injury on the body, thus ruling out criminal elements.

A preliminary forensic report later confirmed that the cause of death was coronary atherosclerosis, and the case has been classified as a sudden death (SDR).
