M’sian teacher gets YSL lipstick from student
Recently, a video was posted on TikTok by @syiraaishak, a 29-year-old teacher, capturing her heartfelt reaction to receiving an expensive lipstick from one of her students.
In the video, she unboxes the luxurious Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) lipstick, clearly touched by the thoughtful gift.
The video quickly went viral, amassing over 1 million views, as netizens were moved by the touching gesture and the teacher’s genuine gratitude.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Insyirah said that the surprise happened a day before her birthday, which fell on July 18. On the eve of her birthday, she received many gifts from her students, including the YSL lipstick.
I’m not sure how much it cost, but I know Dior lipsticks range between RM200 to RM300, so I assume YSL should be slightly higher. I’ve never owned such an expensive lipstick because it’s quite unaffordable.
“The back of the lipstick even had my name engraved on it, which made the gift even more special and surprising,” she said.
Insyirah explained that although some people accused her of showing off, her intentions behind making the video were genuine.
When I was about to unbox the gift in the teachers’ room, my fellow teacher friends encouraged me to film my reaction to capture the sweet memory.
“I wanted to preserve the moment so I posted the video on my TikTok. But i never expected it to go viral and reach over 1 million views,” she exclaimed.

Netizens were deeply moved by the generous gesture from Insyirah’s student and her heartfelt reaction.
