A Malaysian teacher was found dead in her home in Skudai, Johor, after being absent from work for several months.
With her body currently still at the morgue, her colleagues are now seeking the public’s help in locating her only known relative—an aunt believed to be living in Singapore.
M’sian teacher dies alone at Johor home
According to Lianhe Zaobao, 39-year-old Luo Qunfeng (transliteration) was a teacher at Kulai Cultural Primary School.
A colleague told the Chinese daily that the last time they visited Luo was on February 2025. They then tried to visit her more after that but received no response. Neighbours also said they had not seen Luo for a long time as well.

It wasn’t until June 13 when a neighbour alerted the police of a foul smell coming from Luo’s unit, where her body was found.
According to Luo’s colleague, she was believed to have died for close a month ago based on the degree of decomposition.
Luo’s body is now at the morgue as the hospital waits for her family to claim it and police are waiting for the autopsy report to determine to cause of death, reported Oriental Daily.
Looking for Luo’s relatives
According to colleagues, Luo had had been living alone since her parents passed away before 2010 and was known to be a quiet and reserved person who shared very little about her family.

The only relative Luo had mentioned was her mother’s sister, an aunt who moved to Singapore many years ago, believed to be around 74 years old and possibly her only living relative.
“Although there are people who have kindly offered to help arrange her funeral, we still hope to find her relatives to send her off for the last time,” said Luo’s colleagues.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Skudai police at 07-511 2622.
