Whenever we go to a restaurant to have a meal, the least we’d expect is that the food’s taste and portion is on par with the price attached to it.
A Malaysian man was recently left stunned by a plate of broccoli he had ordered at a restaurant located at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) mall, leading him to wonder whether the pricing was justifiable.
M’sian stunned by RM26 broccoli
In the Xiaohongshu post, the man wrote he had ordered a plate of broccoli, three lamb skewers, and a bowl of ramen at the restaurant.
When the broccoli arrived, he was shocked by the portion, where it had between 10 to 15 stalks served on a plate.

According to him, he was charged RM26 for the broccoli, which wasn’t inclusive of taxes.
Is this really the standard portion and price for a ramen shop? I was left deep in thought. At that moment, I seriously reflected on myself and came to the conclusion that maybe I’m just too poor,” the OP wrote.
He also added that he had to wait close to 30 minutes for the lamb skewers to arrive even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time.

At the end of his meal, the OP paid a total of RM85.85 after taxes were included into the bill.

Reactions
In the comment section, some netizens were also flabbergasted by the broccoli’s portion and price, while others were less than surprised.
One said the price was expected based on the fact that the restaurant was located within a high-class mall such as TRX but conceded that the broccoli’s portion was “ridiculous”.

Another jokingly commented on the broccoli’s rather unappealing appearance, writing: ‘I thought it was going to be used to prepare an infant’s meal.’

However, this netizen didn’t seem to have sympathy for the OP, saying that he had it coming as he had ordered the broccoli without taking a closer look at its pricing.
