M’sian Student Goes Viral After Returning To School For SPM Results With ‘Rebel’ Hairstyle To Tease Teacher

What a revenge.
A Malaysian student has gone viral on TikTok after staging a playful “revenge” moment when he returned to school in Serdang to collect his SPM results, and netizens are loving every second of it.

The clip, which has garnered 3.9 million views, 436,000 likes, and over 50,000 shares at the time of writing, captures a lighthearted reunion between a student and his former teacher that many Malaysians found both relatable and unexpectedly wholesome.

A playful comeback five years in the making

In the now-viral video, the student is seen walking confidently towards his teacher with a long, dyed, and bleached hair, a stark contrast to the neat and regulation-compliant hairstyles typically enforced during school years.

The caption of the video reads:

POV: After 5 years, I finally got my ‘revenge’ on the teacher who always cut students’ hair.”

For many Malaysians, this struck a familiar chord, as strict grooming rules, especially when it comes to hair, are a common part of school life.

Teacher’s reaction makes it even better

As the student approaches his former teacher, he proudly shows off his new look, almost as if presenting the ultimate “proof” of his long-awaited freedom.

Instead of reacting in defence, the teacher rolls her eyes, laughs, and jokingly says, “I hate seeing your style like this. (Benci aku tengok gaya awak ni)

The moment quickly dissolves into shared laughter, with both of them clearly taking the situation in good spirits.

Rather than a tense confrontation, the interaction felt more like a reunion between two people who shared a meaningful chapter in each other’s lives.

Just for fun

Speaking to WeirdKaya, the video owner said everything was done purely for fun and memories.

He explained that he recorded the video just to capture the moment of collecting his results and meeting his discipline teacher again.

According to him, the teacher was actually very close and kind to him, and the interaction was simply playful.

He shared that he only showed off his hair because the teacher used to cut it during his school days, and the video itself was made randomly without expecting it to go viral.

I didn’t even expect it to reach the For You page, I was quite surprised myself,” he said.

He also stressed that the “revenge” caption carried no real meaning, adding that he holds no grudges at all.

The clarification came after some netizens accused him of being rude or disrespectful, which he said was a misunderstanding of the situation.

Netizens say this shows what a good teacher is like

While the video was meant to be funny, many netizens pointed out something deeper behind the exchange, as this kind of playful interaction usually only happens when there is mutual respect between a teacher and student.

One said that the teacher must have been a good one, strict enough to enforce discipline back then, but caring enough that her students still feel comfortable joking with her years later.

Former student shares touching experience

The story took an even more heartwarming turn when a former student of the same teacher appeared in the comment section and shared their own experience.

She wrote:

Eh, Teacher Chong was my Accounting teacher for 2 years. She never gave up on her students even when many failed her subject. She constantly supported us, and in the end, many of her students managed to score A and B+ in Accounting.”

The comment quickly gained attention, giving netizens a clearer picture of the kind of educator she was, firm in discipline, yet deeply committed to helping her students succeed.

More than just a funny video

What started off as a cheeky “revenge” clip quickly turned into something more meaningful.

Beyond the laughs, it became a reminder of how impactful teachers can be, not just through rules and discipline, but through the care and support they show behind the scenes.

And sometimes, the best kind of “revenge” isn’t about getting even, it’s about coming back years later, sharing a laugh, and realising that those strict moments were part of something much bigger.
