On Apr. 9, 2025, 35-year-old Abdul Hafiz Abu Bakar claimed trial at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court for allegedly damaging the front door of the victim’s Perodua Axia during the altercation on Mar. 29.

This comes after he was previously charged with assaulting the same woman by punching her in the head.

The incident reportedly happened after the victim’s car hit Abdul Hafiz’s wife and 7-year-old daughter, who were crossing the road. Both sustained minor injuries, but things escalated when the soldier allegedly took matters into his own hands.

Charged under Penal Code Section 427

The damage-related offence falls under Section 427 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, he could be jailed between 1 and 5 years, fined, or both.

Prosecutors requested bail to be set at RM8,000, but Abdul Hafiz’s lawyer from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) argued that he was supporting two young children and an unemployed wife.

The magistrate eventually granted bail at RM2,000 with one surety.

The court has fixed May 19 for the next mention of the case, the same date as his previous charge.
