Over the decades, there have been thousands of Malaysians who have left the country permanently for a variety of reasons: be it for a better quality of life or pursuing career and educational opportunities.
A woman took to social media to pan Malaysians who spoke poorly of the country after choosing to leave, where she believed was a display of ungratefulness.
M’sian slams those who talk ill about country after migrating
According to a Threads post shared by @shidahisham on Dec 12, she expressed her disappointment towards her fellow countrymen who had nothing but negative things to say about Malaysia despite leaving for overseas.

I’m so tired of hearing people wanting to migrate and saying Malaysia isn’t good enough. If you want to migrate, just go, but there’s no need to insult your own country or say all sorts of things.
“Every country has its own strengths. It’s fine if someone doesn’t want to stay in Malaysia, but the criticism isn’t necessary,” she wrote.
Netizens agree with OP’s view
In the comment section, a majority of netizens stood behind the woman and largely agreed with her view that Malaysians who move abroad but yet portray the country in a negative light were ungrateful.
‘Agree. Wanting to migrate elsewhere is an individual choice but there’s no need to criticise Malaysia.’

‘Every country has it own pros and cons. But at the end, no place is better than home.’

‘Exactly! I was just chatting with my mum and I told her that as I grow older, I think I appreciate my country more. There’s nowhere like home, even how imperfect it is.’
