Mothers would do anything for children to ensure that they’re safe and sound, even if it brings more inconvenience to them.
This was what a Malaysian mother did when she brought her young son to South Korea for work and had to rely on surveillance camera to keep an eye on him while she wasn’t at home.
Left son at home & watched him via CCTV
Sin Chew Daily reported that the mother named Lai Yi shared on Facebook that she brought her son to South Korea with her in order to give him a better future.
She said her employer didn’t allow her to bring her son to her workplace and that she couldn’t find a nanny to watch him during the weekends.

As such, she had no choice to leave him at home alone whenever she was at work on weekends and would monitor him through a CCTV installed at her home.
In order to ease the process for her son, Lai would prepare his meals beforehand before going off for work.
She would also have lunch with him over video call as a means of making up to him for leaving him alone at home.
‘No mother would want to do this’
Lai expressed candidly how much it hurt her to see her son staying all by himself at home and had no one to care for him.

“Given a choice, no one would want to leave a three-year-old child alone at home from morning until evening.
While I’m ready to take on life’s toughest challenges, what hurts me the most is the thought of leaving my son all alone with no adults around.”
However, Lai said her son learned to be independent from a young age and that his strength and understanding gave her the resolve to carry on whenever she felt like giving up.

She added that now her living conditions have improved, she now wants to make up for the time she lost with her son, who’s now six years old.
“These days, I’d rather stay home with him on weekends,” she added.
