M’sian Siblings Die In Road Accident While On The Way To Visit Their Dad’s Grave

Their mother witnessed the accident unfold.
What was supposed to be a ‘family reunion’ between a pair of siblings and their late father turned into tragedy after the former lost their lives in a road accident.

The heartbreaking incident took place on Lebuh Sungai Udang-Paya Rumput-Ayer Keroh (SPA) near Stadium Hang Jebat, Krubong in Melaka yesterday afternoon (Sept 23), reported Sinar Harian.

He added that the victims were riding a Demak DV110 motorcycle from Ayer Keroh towards Sungai Udang to visit their late father’s grave in Bertam Hulu at around 6.15pm.

Upon reaching the accident site, it is believed that the rider (Muhammad Amirul) did not notice a roro (roll-on roll-off) bin located by the roadside and collided with it,” he said.

To further add on to the heartbreak, the accident was witnessed by the victims’ mother, who was following them from behind on a separate motorcycle.

Following the accident, both Muhammad Amirul and Nur Afiqah sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Melaka Hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, none of them survived, with Muhammad Amirul passing away at 7.40pm and his sister breathing her last at 12.30am.

Patit said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving. Police have also identified the owner of the roro bin and witnesses who saw the accident unfold.

Our condolences to the family for their loss and we hope they will be able to move on from the tragedy.
