In a country where its citizens are huge foodies like Malaysia, food festivals are prime locations for vendors to not only make a living, but also display their culinary skills.
Unfortunately, food festivals often teem with vendors who look for every opportunity to make a quick buck by charging customers exorbitantly, just like how one man found out.
Was charged RM57 for a cup of gummies
In a photo shared on Facebook by MelakaExplorer, it showed him holding a plastic cup filled with assorted gummies that his sibling had bought.

However, the shocker came not because of the amount of gummies taken, but the price tag that came with it.
According to the OP, when his mother went to make payment for the gummies, the vendor told her that it was a whooping RM57 with a huge smile on his face.
Upon hearing the RM57 price, the OP said his mum was so stunned by the figure that her hand “started trembling” when she handed over the money.
‘Ridiculous!’
Netizens were equally shocked by the gummies’ price and said that it was akin to daylight robbery.
‘This is why I boycott all food festivals. Went for the first time and it was also my last.’

‘After this all the vendors will wonder why they have no customers.’

Meanwhile, some argued the OP could have chosen to walk away instead of paying for the gummies.
