A Malaysian woman shared her disappointment online after her husband allegedly chose to prioritise helping a friend over caring for her while she was unwell.
In a post on Facebook, the woman revealed that her husband decided to return to his hometown even though she was sick and struggling to move around due to severe leg pain.
Husband went to hometown to help a friend
According to the woman, she was left alone at home while her husband travelled back to his hometown to assist a friend.
My husband went back to the village while I was sick. I’m alone at home and my leg hurts so badly that it’s difficult for me to even walk.”
She said she initially wanted to stop him from leaving but decided against it as she was worried it might lead to an argument.
“I did tell him that it would be difficult for me because there would be no one to help me. I thought he would cancel his trip back to the village, but he still insisted on going,” she shared.
Left with RM50 to survive for four days
The woman also expressed her frustration over what she described as her husband’s lack of responsibility during the four days he was away.
She said she was not working and was only given RM50 to cover her expenses while he was in his hometown.
She later messaged her husband to inform him that the money had run out and asked if he could transfer some additional funds.
However, she claimed that her husband replied that he had no money.
I’m really disappointed with the situation now. Even in a situation like this, he still chooses his friend,” she wrote.
Feeling helpless and abandoned, the woman said she had even considered returning to her parents’ home.
“In a situation like this, I’m thinking of going back to my mother’s house. Should I just leave the house?” she asked.
Netizens advise her to seek help from family
Many netizens who came across the post expressed concern for the woman’s safety and urged her to seek help from her family.
‘You should just leave the house and go to your mother’s place. There’s nothing wrong with that since you’re not well. It’s dangerous for you to stay alone at home. Once you recover, you can return home. Or if you’re comfortable at your parents’ house, you can just stay there permanently. Just make sure you inform your husband before leaving the house.’
‘Just go back to your parents’ house, sis. Instead of someone finding you dead alone at home. Call your family members to come get you. It’s really pitiful that someone can be this heartless.’
