Choon Guan 1956, located at Bukit Raja, has set up a simple system for anyone who finds themselves hungry and without money.

A sign in the restaurant reads: “If you are hungry and have no money, these meals have already been paid for.”

The wall near the sign is filled with meal receipts marked “Sudah Bayar” (Paid), meaning generous customers have prepaid for meals in advance.
