JJ Lin’s ‘JJ20 World Tour‘ concert in Bukit Jalil drew tens of thousands of fans eager to witness the Mandopop star live. But the night was marred by heavy downpours, forcing many attendees to wear disposable raincoats throughout the show.
Once the concert ended, the stadium was left littered with plastic raincoats and trash — until one man stepped up to clean the mess without being asked.

Identified as Der Ting, the DJ was spotted picking up discarded raincoats after the concert.
His silent act of kindness was captured by another concertgoer who uploaded the clip onto Xiaohongshu (小红书) without his knowledge.
He acted alone at first
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Der Ting said he didn’t initially see anyone else helping.
But when I started picking things up, I noticed some people around me began to do the same. Maybe they realised the bins were just nearby.”
He clarified that he didn’t lose out on the concert experience either. instead, he cleaned up during pauses between songs.

“All in all, it probably took me around 15 minutes,” he added.
Didn’t expect to go viral
Der Ting revealed that he wasn’t even aware the video had been posted.
My colleague secretly took the video and uploaded it without telling me or tagging me,” he said.
I only found out when netizens started sending it to me — and my sister even messaged me asking if that was really me!”
Although surprised, he decided to respond with a short video to share his thoughts behind the action.
Shares his side of the story
He explained on Instagram that he felt uneasy seeing the sea of litter left behind.
“I kept thinking — what if someone slipped? The ground was so wet,” he said.
Also, how would this look to foreign visitors? We always praise the Japanese for their civic habits, yet we let our own places get like this?”
“Even if ten or a hundred people litter, if just one person is willing to clean up, the cycle can begin,” he wrote.
“I believe good actions can influence others and start a positive chain reaction.”
Hoping to inspire more small acts of kindness
He hopes his small gesture can remind Malaysians that building a kind, caring society starts with each individual.

I don’t want a society that is cold and indifferent. I believe kindness can change the world,” he said.
Netizens have since flooded the post with praise, calling him a role model and thanking him for setting a strong example.
