We all know that finding a place to live is one of the most difficult tasks, especially for those who study or work in a foreign country.
Last Saturday (May 8), a Malaysian took to Facebook to question if it was reasonable to pay SGD550 (approximately RM1,700) per month in rent for a partitioned ‘room’.
The 25-year-old was planning to move to Singapore this July and a landlord offered him a partitioned ‘room’ near the Khatib MRT. The rental fee included utilities, internet and air conditioning, according to Shin Ming Daily.
When he received a photo of the aforementioned ‘room’, he was mind blown as it was actually a small corner at the living room that was cordoned off by a curtain!
“No offense to any landlord, but is this reasonable?”
The shocking offer has surprised and amused netizens, and the post has since gained 3K likes and 3K shares.
Netizens poked fun at the bizarre ‘room’ with humourous comments.

▼”It looks like a funeral procession!”
▼”Is someone giving birth or praying inside?”
According to the Singapore’s Housing & Development Board (HDB) website, partitioned rooms cannot be rented out as bedrooms.
