A staff member at a convenient shop in Tanjung Malim has won praise online after going out of her way to help a customer and her young daughter during a busy evening shift.
The heartwarming incident was shared in a viral post on Threads, where a mother recounted her visit to the convenience store on Feb 6 at around 6pm.
Child left disappointed after item runs out
According to the post, the woman visited the outlet with her daughter and planned to order the Spicy Crispy Chiki. However, they were told that the item was out of stock.
Her daughter, who had been looking forward to the snack, was visibly disappointed and nearly burst into tears.
What touched many readers was how the situation was handled by a lone staff member who was reportedly juggling hot meal preparations while also managing the cashier counter on her own.

Despite being extremely busy, the staff member did not brush the family off. Instead, she took the initiative to check the store again, even though a new stock delivery had only just arrived and had not yet been transferred to the kitchen area.
Moments later, she returned with the Spicy Crispy Chiki in hand.
The gesture made her daughter’s day
The mother said she was deeply moved by the staff member’s willingness to go the extra mile despite the workload.
Based on the receipt, the staff member’s name appeared as ZulriatulBaizu, though the woman noted she was unsure if it referred to the staff member herself or a colleague.

She added that she had prepared a small token of appreciation for the staff member but chose not to interrupt her as the counter remained crowded with customers.
In her post, the woman praised the staff member’s attitude, saying such dedication is rare in the food and beverage industry today.
She also thanked FamilyMart for employing staff who show genuine care for customers, ending her message with a heartfelt note to the “adik” who helped them, saying she had truly made her daughter’s day and wishing her well in life.
Netizens call for recognition and reward
The post has since resonated with many online, with readers echoing calls for the staff member to be recognised for her kindness and professionalism.

“Kudos! Let’s make it a habit to highlight unsung heroes so that we know humanity still exists and that they deserve recognition.”
