What started as a seemingly tense police roadblock in Johor quickly turned into a heartwarming surprise for drivers — a warm packet of porridge (bubur lambuk), not a traffic ticket.
In a TikTok video posted by @putera8655, police officers were spotted standing by the roadside near Sabak Bernam, handing out bubur lambuk to passing motorists and passengers.
One part of the video read:
The driver was so stressed… turns out it was just to give us porridge.”
Not your typical roadblock
The 36-second clip showed officers smiling while handing out the traditional Ramadan dish.
Many vehicles slowed down, and passengers rolled down their windows to receive the unexpected treat.
One school van full of children even stole the spotlight as the kids excitedly reached out for the porridge — adding to the feel-good vibes.
The video has since racked up over 626,000 views and more than 31,000 likes, with netizens praising the officers for their wholesome gesture.
Netizens were amused and touched
The comment section quickly filled with love and laughter, with many netizens praising the police for their thoughtful gesture.
Some joked that they were ready to make a U-turn the moment they saw the “roadblock” from afar, only to realise it was for porridge, not summons.
“I feel like someone saw it from far away and made a U-turn… 🤣🤣🤣“

“If I don’t take it, will I get a fine? 🗿“
