M’sian Parent Shares That Her Child’s School Orders Lunch Via App & Delivers It Straight To Class

Netizens say this level of efficiency only happens when PIBG support is solid.
Long canteen queues have always been part of school life. But a recent viral post showing students ordering meals through an app, with food delivered straight to their classrooms, has sparked plenty of attention online.

A parent recently shared how her child’s school has adopted a fully digital food ordering system. In her post, she showed a menu page on an app alongside a photo of canteen staff preparing stacked meal containers in a school corridor.

“Students just order in the app, pay online, and the canteen delivers to each classroom. It really makes things easier for the kids,” she wrote.

No rushing to the canteen. No squeezing through crowds. Just tap, order, and wait for lunch to arrive at the classroom door.

Many netizens praised the system for being efficient and organised. Some also noted that digital ordering helps schools maintain better hygiene, manage stock accurately, and reduce food waste.

While some were impressed by the SJKC featured in the post, others pointed out that this isn’t exclusive to Chinese-medium schools.

“Actually, many SK schools have been doing this too. My child’s school has used an app-based system since before Covid,” one parent commented.

Another parent shared that her children’s school PIBG had even introduced an e-coupon system, making the school one of the pioneers of cashless food payments.

She explained that the system was originally created to prevent cases of stolen pocket money and to stop students from buying food from unlicensed vendors outside school.

“When there’s no cash, students can’t buy from outside sellers. Parents can also pre-order meals for the entire week. It’s safer and more convenient,” she said.

The comment added that the system comes with multiple features, including tracking purchases and setting spending limits, giving parents better control over what their children eat at school.

The discussion eventually shifted to the role of PIBG. Many netizens agreed that when parents cooperate and actively support school initiatives, it becomes easier for schools to introduce modern facilities and systems.

“When parents and PIBG work together, the kids are the ones who benefit most,” one user wrote.
