M’sian OKU Man Accused Of Dressing Up As A Woman At K’tan Religious Office

He claimed trial to the charge.
An online seller pleaded not guilty to a charge of posing as a woman by wearing women’s clothing last November.

According to the charge sheet, Khairul Izwan Sidi Ahmad was accused of committing the offense at the Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAHEAIK) in Kota Bahru at 2.35pm on Nov 9, 2025.

If convicted under Section 19(1) of the Syariah Criminal Code (I) Enactment 2019, he faces a fine of up to RM3,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both.

What he wore

Khairul Izwan had worn a slim-fit T-shirt, women’s underwear and women’s slippers on the day of the alleged offense, reported Sinar Harian.

At the Lower Syariah Court, Khairul Izwan’s lawyer, Muhammad Syarafi Mohd Salleh, appealed for bail to be reduced to RM500 after Kelantan Syarie Deputy Prosecutor Syafika Mat Husin proposed a RM1,000 bail with one surety.

“He is an OKU individual, and he’s also responsible for paying his family’s household electricity bill of more than RM400, which is one of his monthly commitments,” he added,

Syarie Judge Wan Mohd Firdaus W Ibrahim set bail at RM1,000 with one surety and fixed Dec 1 for case mention.

Muhammad Syarafi later told reporters that Khairul Izwan had paid the bail amount.
