M’sian Netizens Hope EPF Dividends Go Into Account 3 So They Can Spend This Raya

Some netizens even tagged EPF and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in the comment.
As Malaysians eagerly await the upcoming EPF dividend announcement, many contributors have already made one thing clear, they hope the money will be credited entirely into Account 3.

The calls came after Kosmo! published an Instagram post under its Kata Editor segment titled “Raya Gift From EPF.”

The post sparked a wave of reactions from Employees Provident Fund contributors, many of whom expressed the same wish in the comments section.

Many want dividends channelled into the Account 3

For those commenting, the preference for Account 3 was not random.

Account 3, also known as the Flexible Account, allows easier withdrawals compared to Accounts 1 and 2.

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaching, contributors said having dividends placed into Account 3 would make it more convenient to access funds for festive spending.

One commenter wrote that they hope this year’s bonus dividends will all go into Account 3 so they can celebrate Raya happily and peacefully.

The user tagged both the official EPF Instagram account and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the comment.

Another commenter joked that if the dividends go into Account 1 or Account 2, it feels “bitter,” but if they are credited into Account 3, that is when it becomes “sweet.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, asking whether all the “sweet” benefits could be directed into Account 3, especially for private sector workers.

Several commenters also tagged the Prime Minister’s Instagram account, seemingly hoping their appeals would be noticed.

While some comments were lighthearted, many reflected genuine financial concerns.

With living costs continuing to rise and Raya preparations around the corner, contributors shared that easier access to their dividends would help ease their burden.

EPF typically announces its annual dividend rate between late February and early March each year.

The payout affects nearly 17 million contributors nationwide, including around nine million active members.
