While some parents might ask for details, timelines, and explanations, this mum didn’t overthink it.
When a Malaysian teacher reached out about a student’s behaviour, the reply she received was brief, blunt, and completely unexpected and it quickly went viral.
The story began with a simple WhatsApp message.
The teacher politely informed the student’s mum that her son often did not complete his schoolwork and hoped there would be some improvement moving forward.
“Your child often does not complete his schoolwork. I hope there will be some changes,” the teacher wrote
The mum replied almost immediately.
Just choke him.”

Other teachers shared similar encounters
As the post gained traction, several other teachers joined the conversation by sharing screenshots of their own WhatsApp exchanges with parents and the parenting energy was strikingly similar.
In one screenshot shared by another teacher, a parent jokingly suggested drastic measures if the child continued misbehaving in class.
“If he keeps talking, just throw a chair at him,” the parent wrote, followed by laughing emojis. “If he still doesn’t listen, tell him to stand on the table.”

Netizens say this feels very familiar
The screenshots sparked laughter and nostalgia among netizens, many of whom said this was exactly how their own parents used to speak to teachers.
One teacher commented:
“As a teacher myself, her reply made me feel nothing but satisfaction.”
Another netizen wrote:
“Straight to the point. No need to reply long-long.”
Others joked that this parenting style was becoming rare.
“The one and only ‘Asian parent’ left on Earth.”
While many acknowledged that the replies were clearly made in jest, netizens agreed the screenshots reflected a familiar reality, parents who trust teachers, don’t argue back, and believe discipline starts at home.
As one commenter summed it up simply:
“A mum like this is good.”
