A male motorcyclist was left severely injured after a viral clip showed him crashing into a car door that was flung open by a toddler along Jalan Tun Razak last Friday (Feb 6).
Police have since stepped in and are currently investigating the incident.
Flung off motorcycle by car door
According to the viral clip that has been making rounds on social media, it showed the victim riding his motorcycle when the car door was suddenly flung open out of the blue.

He couldn’t brake in time and thus crashed into the car door, where the impact threw him off his motorcycle and onto the road.
Another motorcyclist, who was behind him, also couldn’t brake in time and subsequently crashed into him and fell onto the road as well.
However, the second motorcyclist managed to get up to his feet and confronted the driver for opening the car door.

Car door opened by 2yo
NST later reported that the culprit for the accident was a 2-year-old toddler, who opened the left rear door as the child safety lock wasn’t activated at the time.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said a 25-year-old suffered a fractured left arm and is currently receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, while a 30-year-old rider suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, four other cars, a Toyota Corolla Cross, Honda City, Volkswagen Polo and Perodua Bezza, were also involved in the crash. However, none of the drivers were injured.
Police are now probing the case under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
Those with further information are urged to contact the Tun H.S. Lee traffic police station at 03-20719999 or any nearby police station.
