M’sian MET Dept Issues Level 1 Heatwave Alert For 6 Areas With Temperatures Soaring To 37°C

Malaysia is under strike by a heatwave recently, and MET Malaysia has announced a Level 1 heatwave alert last week.

Yesterday, six areas in Peninsular Malaysia were officially placed under Level 1 (Berjaga-Jaga) heatwave status, according to the latest update on social media by MET Malaysia.

The affected areas include:

  • Perak: Larut & Matang, Kuala Kangsar, and Perak Tengah
  • Kelantan: Machang and Kuala Krai
  • Kedah: Bandar Baharu

This alert is issued when the daily maximum temperature hits between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days, signalling the need for public caution.
