Malaysia is under strike by a heatwave recently, and MET Malaysia has announced a Level 1 heatwave alert last week.
Yesterday, six areas in Peninsular Malaysia were officially placed under Level 1 (Berjaga-Jaga) heatwave status, according to the latest update on social media by MET Malaysia.
6 affected areas
The affected areas include:
- Perak: Larut & Matang, Kuala Kangsar, and Perak Tengah
- Kelantan: Machang and Kuala Krai
- Kedah: Bandar Baharu

This alert is issued when the daily maximum temperature hits between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days, signalling the need for public caution.

Authorities are urging residents in these areas to take necessary precautions such as staying hydrated, avoiding direct exposure to the sun, and limiting outdoor activities during peak hours.
