A funeral director has come forward with a chilling real-life case involving three sisters from the same family who died by suicide one after another across three years.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Terrence Lim, the founder of Evergreen Memorial Services, said he personally handled the funeral arrangements for the second, third, and fourth sisters from the same family.

Second sister died in 2023
In August 2023, Terrence received a call from a police officer, referred to as “officer I,” requesting his help for a suicide case involving a woman who had jumped from a building.
At Klang General Hospital, Terrence met the deceased’s younger sister (third sister), who shared that her second sister was the one who died.
She then asked if he remembered a similar case in 2022 — another woman who also took her life.
That woman turned out to be their eldest sister.
I was shocked. In just one year, two sisters had ended their lives the same way,” he wrote.
Another sister jumped in 2024
A year later in December 2024, the same officer called again.
Terrence assumed it was a casual request, but the officer shouted, “Lim! Remember the Tan sisters? Another one jumped!”

This time it was the third sister who had taken her life.
“Her youngest sister was recently released from prison, so she helped with the memorial services,” he wrote.
Terrence met the officer at the mortuary, where he was handed a note the sister had left behind.
Final case in 2025
On April 29, 2025, around 2 am, Terrence received a call from an Assistant Superintendent (ASP), not the usual officer.
The ASP asked if he knew someone with the surname Tan.
Terrence instantly recognised the name — it was the fourth and youngest sister.

When Terrence guessed that she had jumped, the officer grew suspicious and ordered him to come to the scene immediately.
Terrence’s boss’s wife insisted on accompanying him for safety.
At the scene, police handed him a letter the youngest sister had written. She had left three notes — one for Terrence, one for his assistant, and one for the police in English.
He also told WeirdKaya that the letter written to the police was deeply emotional.
She apologised to the officers for causing them trouble across all the cases. She also thanked them for their help and said sorry for being a burden,” he said.
A haunting letter
Reading the letter left Terrence deeply heartbroken.
He described the contents as emotional and frightening, as if he was watching her final thoughts play out like a film.
It felt like I was watching a movie in my head — her final moments, her thoughts, how she still thought of us and took time to write those letters. It broke me,” he said.
Although the sisters always spoke calmly, he said there was something off about their expressions.
Their eyes were empty. They always looked pale. But in our line of work, you don’t assume anything unless it’s obvious,” he added.
Mental health should not be ignored
While some suggested the family may have been under a curse, Terrence believes the issue lies in ignored mental health struggles.
He stressed the importance of checking in on people around us, especially when they seem fine on the outside. Tragedies like these, he said, are real and happening more often.
