‘They’re Both Gone Now’ — M’sian Man’s 2 Kids Killed After Vellfire Beats Red Light In Ipoh

Both of them died on the spot.
A pair of siblings were tragically killed in a road accident in Ipoh on Wednesday all because the driver of a Vellfire failed to stop at a red light.

The victims were 22-year-old Nur Amira Balqis Armi and her brother, 15-year-old Muhammad Armirul, who lost their lives in the accident that took place at the intersection of Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Jalan Pasir Puteh at 10.35am.

According to a statement by Ipoh police, the accident involved a motorcycle that the victims were riding on and a Vellfire driven by a 38-year-old woman.

However, the Vellfire driver was believed to have continued driving despite the traffic light turning red, causing her to ram straight into the victims.

The siblings were instantly killed due to severe injuries while the Vellfire driver escaped unscathed from the crash.

Following the accident, Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee headed over to the scene of crash to understand the situation.

He also wrote in a Facebook post that he will personally fund for the victims’ funeral costs so that their family will not be burdened.

Adding on the tragedy was that the victims were the only children of Armi Mustafa, who is now all alone as he had lost his wife eight months after she gave birth to Armirul.

Speaking to NST, Armi said he was close with his children and recounted how he came to know of their death.

“I got a call from a policeman about 10am. He told me to go to the scene of the accident, but didn’t tell me what happened.

I rushed there, praying that nothing serious happened. But when I arrived, I saw the unimaginable. My children were gone. I lost my son and daughter in an instant. But I must accept God’s will and His tests,” he said.

The victims’ bodies were later taken to Masjid Imaniah in Batu Gajah for funeral prayers before being laid to rest at the Kampung Changkat Belangkor Muslim Cemetery that same day.

Our condolences to the victims’ family and we hope drivers will follow traffic laws so that such tragedies do not happen.
