The numbers he placed the bets on for 13 years straight were his car number plate and birth date.

Eventually, his persistence were handsomely rewarded in the form of him snagging the RM17.8mil jackpot when the results were announced.

I always believed in my own special numbers. This is not just about luck; it’s the power of perseverance,” he said.

Shared on how he plans to use winnings

Despite becoming a millionaire overnight, the man said he has no plans to spend the money away in a lavish manner.

“I have been in the printing industry for many years. With the rise of digitalisation, the demand for signboards, banners, and similar products has declined, and the situation worsened after the pandemic.

“Last year, I had to make the tough decision to lay off some employees. Now, with this prize money, I have newfound hope. I plan to upgrade my printing technology, diversify my services to stay competitive, and elevate my business to the next level,” he said.

The man added he also plans to give a portion of his prize money back to the community by donating it to rebuild a temple he visits frequently in his hometown.

“I recently heard that it has fallen into disrepair and is in urgent need of renovation. I would like to donate part of my winnings to restore it to its former glory.”
