A viral video of a shocking road rage incident where a man allegedly punched a female driver after his daughter was reportedly hit by a car sparked discussion online yesterday (30 Mar).
Now, the police have confirmed that the suspect, a 35-year-old man who’s also an army personnel, has been arrested.
What actually happened?
According to Harian Metro, Seremban District Police Chief ACP Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the incident took place around 10.15 pm and started when the man’s 7-year-old daughter and her 34-year-old mother were crossing the road.
A 28-year-old woman driving a Perodua Axia was heading from Mydin Senawang towards Senawang when the mother-daughter duo suddenly crossed from the left to the right side of the road.

Due to the short distance, the driver couldn’t stop in time and accidentally hit them. Both pedestrians sustained minor injuries and were taken to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar.
Suspect Arrested
What happened next was what sparked outrage online. It’s alleged that the father, upon seeing the accident, turned violent and assaulted the female driver.
She was left with bruises on her right rib and swelling on the back of her head. Her car was also damaged during the altercation.
The suspect was arrested at the Seremban District Police Headquarters yesterday (30 Mar) afternoon.
He’s now being investigated under Section 323 (causing hurt) and Section 427 (committing mischief) of the Penal Code.
As for the accident itself, it’s being probed under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959. ACP Mohamad Hatta also urged the public not to speculate further, as it could spark unnecessary tension.
