A late-night confrontation at a petrol station in Johor turned violent when a group of armed men attempted to ambush another vehicle — only to be met with gunfire from one of the intended victims.
A widely circulated video on social media captured the intense scene, believed to have taken place at a Shell petrol station in Johor, though the exact location has not been confirmed.
Armed ambush caught on camera
The incident began when a black car pulled into the petrol station and parked. Roughly 30 seconds later, a silver vehicle suddenly sped in and stopped directly behind it.
Moments later, four men dressed in black, wearing baseball caps and armed with parang (machetes), jumped out of the silver car and rushed toward the black car, violently slashing at its doors. The sight triggered panic, with bystanders seen running away in fear.

According to the footage, a man in a grey shirt seated in the front passenger seat of the black car then fired at least four gunshots in the direction of the attackers, forcing them to immediately retreat and flee in their vehicle.
Man raises hands, another gives chase
During the chaos, a man seated in the back seat of the black car opened the door, knelt on the ground, and raised both hands in surrender. Once the attackers had left, he quickly got up and walked away.
At the same time, the grey-shirted man who fired the shots exited the vehicle and appeared to raise his weapon toward the silver car as it drove off.
The black car’s driver then got out, motioned for his armed companion to get back in, and they drove off, seemingly to pursue the attackers.

Police yet to confirm details
As of now, there has been no official police statement regarding the incident. Netizens claim the event took place in Johor, but authorities have yet to verify the exact location or whether any arrests have been made.
The video, which has gone viral across Malaysian social media, has sparked public concern about the rising violence and brazenness of such attacks — especially in public areas like petrol stations.
Police are expected to investigate the matter and provide updates in due course.
