Cat thefts usually involves the belongings inside the vehicle being stolen, but how often would you encounter one where the steering wheel gets taken instead?
This was what a tow company worker found when he was called to tow a white Perodua Myvi at a hospital in Kelantan, where he had a moment of brilliance in thinking of a way to manoeuvre the car.
M’sian man uses pliers to drive Myvi, minus steering wheel
In a 45-second TikTok clip posted by @wan_towing, a company that offers towing services in West Malaysia, it showed a worker seated on the driver’s seat with no steering wheel in front of him.
However, it didn’t deter him from coming up with a method to steer the car, where he resorted to using a pair of pliers to get the job done.

By latching the pliers onto the screw located at the centre of the (missing) steering wheel, the worker carefully drove the car onto the platform located at the back of a tow truck.
After successfully manoeuvering the car onto the tow truck, the camera pans throughout the Myvi’s interior, where the window on the driver’s side was smashed and glass fragments were scattered all across the floorboard and A-pillar.

In the comment section, the worker revealed that the incident took place at a hospital in Kota Bahru, where the owner had parked it there to go to work, only to return and find it in its wrecked state.
He also jokingly called upon the person who stole the steering wheel to confess, writing, “Which ‘animal’ stole my steering wheel? You better confess” in the in-text-caption.
Reactions
Netizens couldn’t help but express amazement over the worker’s creativity in solving the problem, with one praising him for showing a “DIY video”.
In response, the OP jokingly replied by saying that one could use their teeth to get the job done.

Meanwhile, some were shocked to see that thieves would resort to stealing the steering wheel.
