Going out for a meal only to have your card declined is already awkward enough.
But one Malaysian man allegedly made the situation even more unbelievable by calling his wife to ask her to transfer money while he was dining with another woman.
The incident was shared by a Threads user who claimed to have witnessed the whole thing unfold in front of her.
His card allegedly got declined
According to the Threads user, the man had gone out to eat with another woman when it was time to settle the bill.
However, his bank card was allegedly declined when he tried to make payment.
With the bill still unpaid, the man apparently decided to call his wife and ask her to transfer some money to him.
He brought another woman out for a meal. Then his bank card got declined when he wanted to pay.”
After that, he called his wife and asked her to transfer money so he could pay for the other woman’s meal.”
The Threads user said she was shocked as she listened to the conversation happening in front of her.
Wife allegedly had no idea he was with another woman
Several commenters wondered whether the wife knew exactly what the money was being used for.
The Threads user later clarified that she allegedly did not.
According to the user, the husband simply told his wife that he did not have enough money to pay for his meal.
His wife then reportedly transferred the money to him and even asked him to send her the receipt as proof of the expense.
The user also claimed that the woman dining with him did not step in to pay when his card was declined.
When the Threads user suggested that she could settle the bill first, the woman allegedly reacted as though the man was expected to pay instead.

In another reply, the Threads user said the situation did not end quickly either.
She claimed that they were left waiting for close to half an hour before the bill could finally be paid.
