Living with housemates can either be a pleasant or nerve-wracking experience as it requires one to put up with their habits, living style, and sometimes, lack of consideration.
A man was injured after he expressed his annoyance towards his housemate’s act of slamming the door by doing the same, leading the latter to assault him, reported NST.
Struck with guitar holder for slamming bathroom door
According to a statement by Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, he said the incident occurred on June 30 at Pandan Indah.
While asleep, the victim was roused from his slumber by the sound of a door being slammed. Deeply annoyed by it, he left his room and slammed the bathroom door in response.

Not long after, his housemate approached him and hit the victim with a guitar holder he was holding in his hand, leading to injuries on the victim’s hand.
A verbal argument then followed suit, with the suspect allegedly threatening to return with his friends to assault the victim.
Longstanding feud between pair
Mohd Azam said the suspect, who was a musician, was arrested at 4.45pm on July 2, during which police seized a black guitar holder believed to have been used during the incident.

“Initial investigations indicate that the altercation was triggered by repeated noise disputes between the duo, mainly involving loud music played by the suspect.
“Despite multiple warnings, the suspect continued to disrupt the victim’s rest. The suspect tested negative for drugs and had no prior criminal record. He was released on police bail after giving a statement on the day of his arrest.
Police are probing the case under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon, and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.
Under Section 324, it carries a three-year jail term, a fine, or whipping, while Section 506 provides an imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine, or both upon conviction.
