As the month of Ramadan encourages patience and good deeds, a viral incident has drawn widespread concern over self-control and public safety.
A video circulating on social media shows a man aggressively slapping a motorcyclist’s head six times at a traffic light intersection in Johor Bahru.
The footage, shared on the Instagram account @kini.trending.my, has sparked discussions about road rage and violence.
Had verbal conflict before physical assault
The altercation reportedly took place on Sunday (Mar 23) at a traffic signal in Johor Bahru.
Initially, the suspect was seen verbally confronting the motorcyclist before escalating to physical assault, where he slapped the latter six times across the face.

The clip then ends with the suspect leaving the scene as the traffic light turned green.
Police investigation underway
According to a statement by police, they have since launched an investigation following a report filed by the victim.
According to Johor Bahru North District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh, authorities identified the viral video on TikTok and confirmed receiving the victim’s report.
The 29-year-old victim lodged the complaint at 4.29pm yesterday (Mar 24), stating that the incident occurred at 4.40pm at the intersection of Jalan Tampoi and Jalan Persiaran Tanjung.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing voluntary hurt. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact the Johor Bahru North District Police Headquarters at 07-5563122.
Police also urged the public to remain rational and abide by the law, stating, “Act responsibly and leave disputes to the authorities. Avoid violence and respect the law.”
