He also revealed that the buyer is a Malaysian, not an international collector.
A Malaysian Pokémon card collector has gone viral after successfully selling his rare collection for a staggering RM1.87 million, just days after publicly announcing that he was looking for a buyer.

The collection, which included highly sought-after bundles and limited-edition cards, was said to hold immense value in the global trading scene.

The collector initially offered two options to interested buyers — RM1.8 million in cash, or a Porsche Carrera S plus RM1 million on top.

Sold to a Malaysian buyer

Many netizens doubted that such a deal would ever happen, given the hefty price tag. However, the collector proved otherwise when he confirmed on Facebook that the collection had officially been sold for RM1,870,000.

My Pokémon card collection has OFFICIALLY BEEN SOLD for RM1,870,000! From a small room in Shah Alam to making history in the Pokémon world. This is more than a sale — it’s a story of passion, grind, and legacy,” he wrote.

He added that every card, box, and sleepless night was worth it, and insisted that the sale marks “not the end, but the beginning of something greater.”

The buyer, he revealed, is a Malaysian — not an international collector, as some had speculated.

Spent RM1.77 mil to build the collection

The young collector also shared that he had spent roughly RM1.77 million (about USD420,000) building the collection over the years.

Following the announcement, many netizens congratulated him, saying it is rare to witness such a massive transaction in the hobby scene.

Others jokingly crowned him the “Raja Scalper”, referencing his ability to secure rare limited cards and resell them at premium value.

Some even praised the sale as proof that collecting cards is more than “a childish hobby,” despite critics who often dismissed it as a waste of money.
