Standing on the train tracks is never a good idea as it can lead to one getting seriously injured or in worse cases, killed even.
A viral video recently showed an elderly man putting his life in danger by standing right on the train track and waiting at a corner of the platform for a train to pass by before making his way to the other side.
M’sian man risks life by standing on train tracks
In the 22-second video shared by KelantanFA.com, it showed a train making its way along the track which snaked through a housing area.
Suddenly, the elderly man poked his head out from the left corner of the platform, suggesting that he had been waiting at that corner the entire time.

After seeing that the coast was clear, he calmly walked across the train track and showed no sign of him being shaken by how close he was to potentially getting hit by the oncoming train.

Netizens react
Needless to say, netizens were shocked to see the man risking his life just to get to the other side by standing on the train track while the train passed him by.

Meanwhile, some speculated that this wasn’t the first time the man had done the dangerous stunt before as he looked rather calm throughout the clip.

KTM Berhad later responded in the comment thread, where it highlighted that crossing the train tracks wasn’t only dangerous, but illegal as well.
“Crossing or trespassing on railway tracks is both dangerous and prohibited under Section 126 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
“Doing so not only makes one face a fine of up to RM500, but it also endangers their lives as well. Please prioritise your safety and adhere to all safety rules,” it wrote.
