A Malaysian housewife has shared her hurt after a health-related reminder to her husband was met with a remark that left her feeling belittled and unappreciated.
According to the mStar, the netizen’s husband had recently been experiencing muscle cramps on the right side of his body, with the pain severe enough to feel close to his chest.
Concerned, the couple went for a medical check-up, where doctors later confirmed that his heart was in good condition.
Refused to stop vaping
However, what stayed with her was not the medical scare, but her husband’s response when she advised him to stop vaping for the sake of his long-term health.
After applying the medication prescribed by the doctor, she gently reminded him to quit using electronic cigarettes.
Her husband brushed it off, insisting that vaping was not the cause of his pain.
Instead, he jokingly blamed her, saying his discomfort was due to her frequently asking him to scan QR codes to pay for items purchased on Shopee using ShopeePay or QR payments.
Online purchases were for household necessities
The woman said she understood that her husband might have been joking, but the comment still cut deeply.
She explained that the online purchases she made were not for personal indulgence, but for household necessities and their children’s needs. To her, the remark felt like her role and contributions as a homemaker were being dismissed.
After finishing applying the medication, she turned off the lights and quietly cried.
Maybe this is just my fate as a housewife,” she wrote, adding that it hurt to feel mocked by her own husband.
She also shared that throughout their marriage, she had never been calculative when it came to spending, especially for the sake of her family.
Despite this, she felt the remark suggested otherwise, leaving her feeling unappreciated and emotionally affected.
