No one like paying more than what it is necessary or acceptable for their meal, but sometimes things aren’t as what it seems when the real picture’s being presented.
A man who was looking to score sympathy points from netizens got the exact opposite after many accused him of embellishing his story and not telling the truth.
‘RM98 for 2 bowls of pork noodles?!’
In a Facebook post shared by a man named Ronnie Khoo, he was complaining about the exorbitant price he had to pay for two bowls of pork noodles at a restaurant located at a KL mall.
In the caption, he claimed that he was charged RM98.15 for the pork noodles and used a Chinese phrase (“吓死宝宝”) to express shock over the bill.

However, he conveniently left out the fact that he actually ordered other items aside from the pork noodles, which were clearly stated in the receipt as follows:
- 2 Large Pork Noodle Soups (RM22.50 each) – RM45.00
- 1 Fried Steamed Bun – RM11.90
- 1 Fried Fish Fillet – RM11.90
- 2 Cold Drink Sets – RM15.80
- Subtotal: RM84.60
- Plus 6% SST (RM5.08) and 10% service charge (RM8.46)
Online criticism
To absolutely no one’s surprise, Ronnie’s less-than-truthful post drew ire from netizens, who slammed him for not presenting the full story in a bid to gain online sympathy.
‘LOL want to create drama but then backfire. Kena whacked hahahahaha.’

‘It clearly states RM45 (for 2 bowls) but you say it’s RM98? Are you trying to defame this restaurant on purpose?’

Meanwhile, a netizen told Ronnie to consider not eating out if he wanted to order multiple dishes but yet cry over how expensive it is.

Next time if you want the Internet to be on your side, perhaps show the full picture first?
