Lately, there has been a surge in incidents where strangers resort to physical violence in public out of anger. While frustration may be understandable, can violence ever be justified?
M’sian man seen punching woman who knocked over his kids
A recent video of a man punching a woman after an accident has been going viral across all platforms. The clip, originally posted by @bckupacc99 on March 30, has gained widespread attention and is now trending on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The video captures the intense moment when the man, visibly enraged, throws a punch at the female driver while hurling harsh words at her. His daughter, who had been knocked over in the accident, lies on the ground as he rushes to pick her up.

Despite his anger, he takes a brief moment to carry his daughter to the side, ensuring she is resting before turning his attention back to the driver.
However, just when it seems the confrontation might be over, the man suddenly storms back toward the woman and lands another forceful punch on her.
Here’s her side of the story
The driver’s sister explanation has been posted on TikTok by @fattyaazi. She explained that her sibling was driving slowly (20-30 km/h) after exiting a parking spot near a bazaar when the accident happened.

A Perodua Aruz blocked her view, and she didn’t see the man and his children crossing. The kids wound was minor, but the man have allegedly exaggerated in his police report, claiming his wife and child were thrown into the air.
After the incident, the man aggressively opened the driver’s door, damaged it, pulled at the car keys, and punched her twice despite her apologizing.

Witnesses confirmed the child had only minor injuries, contradicting his claims. The driver’s sister plans to take legal action, supported by video evidence proving the incident was not as severe as reported.
Netizens’ take on this
Netizens have flooded the comment sections, sharing their opinions on both sides of the incident. However, the majority agree on one key point, regardless of the circumstances, resorting to violence can never be justified.

“Make sure to file a police report, driver’s fault is her fault. Hitting the woman is a crime. Let him celebrate Raya in jail” said a netizen.

“Kids got knocked over? Why let kids cross the road without holding their hand? But when you see the dad hitting a woman, you can tell the level of IQ he possesses. Celebrate Raya in jail after this” said another.

“The driver may or may not be at fault, as the full story remains unclear. However, the moment you resort to physical violence, the case shifts against you. Under Section 323 of the Penal Code, you could face up to one year in jail, a RM2,000 fine, or both.”
