A mother-daughter duo having a quiet lunch together at a kopitiam in Penang were left shocked after a man gave them a front-row seat to an unsolicited exhibition of his genitals.
The daughter later took to social media to share details about the encounter and called upon other females to be on their guard.
Exposed himself for 12 seconds
In the post, the OP wrote that she and her mother were eating lunch together on Saturday (Dec 13) when the man suddenly walked up to them.
He then pulled his pants right down to ankles and stood there for at least 12 seconds with his genitals hanging out in the open.
The OP wrote that initially she didn’t notice what had transpired as she was deep in conversation with her mum. When she finally did, she was stunned and lost her appetite immediately.
Drank coffee calmly despite getting caught
Angered by the man’s indecency, the OP began scolding him loudly and this caused him to back off and stroll back to his seat.
But despite being caught red-handed, the man didn’t seem too bothered by it and sat back at his table before taking a sip of his coffee with a nonchalant look on his face.
The OP said she then took out her handphone and began recording the man while continuing to berate him for his lewd act.
A customer and the kopitiam owner also stepped in to tell the man off, ultimately causing him to leave the premise.

The OP also mentioned in the post that following a check into the man’s background, it was revealed that he lived at an old folks’ home next to a hypermarket in Kota Permai.
She added that the man also had a prosthetic leg, leading her to believe that was the reason he wasn’t roughed up after getting caught for exposing himself.
The OP later told Sin Chew Daily that the man has since apologised to her parents for his actions and that they will not lodge a police report or pursue legal action for the time being.
She also reminded women that if they encounter a similar situation, they should not retreat or panic out of fear but to instead stay calm.
“Such individuals seek psychological gratification from their victims’ fearful reactions. As such, staying calm, stopping the act on the spot, and recording evidence are effective ways of handling the situation.”
