M’sian Man Pays RM1.60 For Pufferfish That Actually Cost RM1.6K, Owner Now Looking For Him

What a difference 2 zeros make.
While transaction mistakes do happen every now and then, some blunders involve huge numbers which can spell financial trouble for the vendor.

An aquarium shop in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, recently took to social media appealing to a customer who severely underpaid for a redline pufferfish to quickly contact them.

In a Facebook post dated Sept 14, the aquarium shop wrote that a male customer had paid a mere RM1.60 for the redline pufferfish that actually cost RM1,600.

It added that the man may have mistakenly keyed in the wrong amount when he made the payment via his Touch n’ Go (TnG) e-wallet.

Speaking to Sin Chew Daily about the incident, the aquarium shop owner said its wireless payment speaker was not working at the time.

He also acknowledged that the cashier was careless and didn’t check whether the customer had paid the correct amount.

We’re not trying to shame the customer (with the post), but we just want to inform him of the mistake and hope that netizens can help in tracking him down.

“If the customer sees the post, we hope he will return and pay the remaining amount or else this will the most expensive gift of his life.”
