Delivering parcels is an unforgiving and exhausting job as it requires one to endure both scorching and rainy weather while making deliveries.
Sadly, not all riders are paid or thanked enough for the hard work that they do, just like this deliveryman who was allegedly underpaid by the company he worked for.
Measly pay for huge task
According to mStar, a woman took to social media to share how her husband was exploited and deceived by the courier company.
She wrote that her husband had just joined the company not too long ago and was promised a full-time position with a basic salary and commission during the job interview.

However, things didn’t pan out as promised during her husband’s first month on the job.
He managed to deliver 2,600 parcels but was shocked when the salary he received was only RM230.
“When he asked why his pay was so low, the company told him that he’s deemed as a part-time worker for the first month.
“Furthermore, they said he had to reach a target of 3,520 parcels being delivered if he wanted to become a full-time employee,” she claimed.

The woman also alleged that her husband was subjected to various deductions, such as RM700 related to cash-on-delivery (COD) transactions, and RM200 for “problematic” parcels.
“The company even told him that there was a penalty because the COD transaction was late. Almost more than RM1,000 got deducted! This is too much!” she exclaimed.
Needless to say, the woman’s husband was left feeling cheated as these matters were not explained in detail to him during the job interview.

Netizen spills the tea
Although the woman didn’t reveal the company’s name, some netizens came forth with their own horror stories.
One netizen who claimed to be an ex-employee confirmed that the company often deducted pay randomly.
“They even deduct RM10 if you don’t take a selfie of yourself wearing your work clothes. As an ex-staff, I’m sorry to say that it’s not worth being a worker at the company,” the netizen said.
