A man suspected of theft sparked outrage online after a video showed him behaving aggressively towards police officers during his arrest in Penang.
According to a 43-second video shared by Penang Kini, the incident is believed to have taken place in Bukit Gedung, Bayan Baru.
Highly confrontational towards police
In the footage, the suspect, who was already handcuffed, appeared highly confrontational, repeatedly taunting officers and making obscene hand gestures at them.

He could also be heard raising his voice loudly while making angry, provocative remarks. However, the exact cause of his arrest and the events leading up to it have yet to be confirmed.
At least four police officers were seen at the scene along with several members of the public. Despite the suspect’s disruptive behaviour, the officers remained calm and issued warnings against his actions.
‘I’ll cause trouble in court!’
One officer was heard telling him, “If you want to cause trouble, don’t interfere with my work. I’m just carrying out my duty to arrest you.”
The man then responded, “Then I’ll go cause trouble in court! I’ll complain about how you do your job!”

Based on the post’s caption, the man was detained for suspected theft and appeared emotionally unstable at the time.
Following the video’s circulation, many netizens criticised the man’s behaviour, expressing displeasure over his disrespect towards law enforcement.
