A man in his 20s was left severely injured in a horrific road accident that took place on Jalan Sungai Rambai, Jenjarom, Selangor yesterday (Dec 30).
According to China Press and Kosmo!, the accident occurred at around 12.45pm, with a clip of its aftermath going viral on social media.
Thrown off motorcycle by car
Kuala Langat District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said investigations found that the victim was heading towards Jalan Sungai Rambai while riding his Yamaha LC135 motorcycle.
As the victim was exiting the junction at Jalan Akasia, he got hit by a Proton Satria and was thrown onto the road shoulder.
The Proton Satria then hit a guardrail before spinning into the opposite lane and colliding with a Toyota Velfire.
Right hand severed
Due to the crash, the victim lost his right hand and sustained injuries to his right leg. As for the Proton Satria and Toyota Velfire drivers, both of them were unhurt.
The victim was taken to Banting Hospital and successfully underwent surgery on his right hand and is reported to be in stable condition.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
